- This report presented a case of malignant transformation of a large recurrent liver cell adenoma in a 48-year-old woman. This patient had no known risk factor for liver cell adenoma including history of oral contraceptive use or endocrine disorders. This patient had a right lobectomy for an indolent huge hepatic mass for 12 years. Eight years later, extended right lobectomy was performed for a recurrent mass. Comparing to previous mass, recurrent mass showed focal areas of frank anaplastic change as well as vascular invasion. The author report a case of malignant alteration in a recurrent liver cell adenoma emphasizing on the its rarity and pathogenesis.
